Clapping Along

Jackson has a new trick. When I sing "If your happy and you know it" he claps right along - happily! Of course, his clapping is indiscriminate...he claps along to almost anything. But I don't care whether or not he knows that you are supposed to clap your hands to "If your happy and you know it" because it makes for a darn cute video either way...enjoy!

Cold Spaghetti, Cold Spaghetti

I made spaghetti for dinner last week and it seemed like a great opportunity to let Jackson explore a new texture. The stickiness bothered him at first (and the fact that JD kept putting it on his head). He kept shaking his hands to try and get it off. He isn't ready to eat it yet but it sure was fun to play with. Here are some pictures of Jackson with mangoes on his face and spaghetti stuck to his hands...thank goodness it was bath night!

Tooth Fairy

After months of excessive drooling, Jackson's first tooth finally poked through on Thursday, July 9th. It was his bottom, right central incisor. Jackson braved the new intruder into his gummy smile with a little fussiness and a lot of children's Tylenol. To celebrate the occasion, I took pictures of our freshly bathed baby boy with the tooth fairy pillow JD used as a child. I also tried to capture a picture of the tooth but at this point it easier felt than seen.

Fourth of July - Take Two

Since it monsooned on the actual holiday, we decided to have a Fourth of July mulligan. On Sunday, July 5th we celebrated our nation's birthday poolside at the Boeglin house. It was still a bit chilly to swim so we played on the pool deck in our patriotic garb. Jackson had a blast playing with Grandma's version of baby toys - pots, pans and measuring spoons. Baby Einstein, who?

Happy Birthday Lily!

The 4th of July marked another important day for the Meneely family...Lily's 5th birthday! This year has been tough on our "first born" as she now has to share the spotlight with Jackson. But she has taken to the new arrangement like a trooper and we are looking forward to the day when she can chase Jackson around the yard. Happy Birthday Lily!

Fourth of July (Pajama) Party

We went back to Terre Haute for the Boeglin's Annual Fourth of July pool party. Unfortuntaley, the weather did not cooperate with those plans so we skipped the swimsuits and stayed in our pajamas...all day long! Jackson enjoyed spending a lazy Independence Day with his aunts.

Swim Lessons

I wanted to make sure Jackson was ready for summer so I enrolled our little water baby in "Parent & Me" swim lessons at the Carmel Clay Aquatics Center. Twice a week for four weeks Jackson splashed his way through 30-minutes of traditional children's songs that somehow always ended the same way...a quick dunk under the water and an intense look of confusion! As with most things, Jackson took to the water with an air of speculation. He is a very serious little boy who likes to quietly inspect new things - eyes darting from one thing to another. What a curious little boy!
