Naked Time

Jackson loves to be naked. In fact, if he is crying all we have to do is undress him and his face lights up. We gave him some special "naked time" before bed - like father, like son!

Poo Poo Train

JD has made a game out of unloading the Diaper Genie (which we have to do every other day). Here he is with Jackson's "poo poo train." Toot toot!

Multitasking

As many of you already know, being a mom is hard work and, unfortunately, the show must go on...by the show I mean the cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. So Jackson and I have learned to multitask. I had to get my laundry upstairs somehow!

High School Reunion

My friend Angela Fonyuy was in from California last week so we decided to get some of the old gang back together (plus our new additions!). The picture below from left to right...me with Jackson, Angela, Amanda McDowell with her daughter Madelynn, Jill Olecki with her son Cooper and Sarah Furry with her son Lincoln. We had a lot of fun catching up!

Ch- Ch- Ch- Ch- Changes

We took a picture of Jackson with his bear the day we brought him home from the hospital. It is amazing to see how much he has changed since then. He is 8 weeks and 1 day old today. He eats like a champ, likes to watch the world around him and loves his mommy and daddy. Last night, he slept through the night (from 10:30 pm - 5:30 am when I woke him up because I was in pain!). Everyone told me that they grow up so fast - now I know what they mean!

Wardrobe Changes

Jackson is growing like a weed which means he gets to sport all of the cool outfits people have given to him. JD's family from Florida gave him this onesie that reads "I still live with my parents." In case anyone was wondering, this statement will still be true when he is 30...I am never letting him leave!
We were changing Jackson's outfit after a rather unpleasant "blowout" (as JD likes to call it) and the onesie got stuck. He looks like Shrek - minus the green!
Jackson wore his first big boy outfit today - a hoodie, jeans and tennis shoes. We were thrilled to find shoes that fit his monkey feet. His toes are long but his feet are narrow which means no socks stay on and shoe buying is nearly impossible.

Who's Your Daddy?

When Jackson was born I received a hilarious email from my friend and former roommate, Alissa Wetzel. Alissa was shocked to learn that Jackson was 21 inches long at birth. She googled it and discovered that 21 inches was average. Given JD and I's height she advised me that I should reveal Jackson's true paternity to the world. Well Alissa...the plot thickens. Jackson had his two-month appointment today (even though he is just 7 weeks old) and here are his stats...

Weight 10 lbs 3 oz (25th percentile)
Head Circumference 15 inches (25th percentile)
Length 23.5 inches (80th percentile)

We're Back!

For all of our faithful followers, I apologize for the long absence from our blog. This week something magical happened...Jackson turned 6 weeks old and things finally clicked into place! He seems to know night from day now, he is only feeding every 2 1/2 to 3 hours as opposed to every hour and he is alert and exploring the world around him. I finally feel like I am figuring this motherhood thing out! This change also means I have a few extra minutes (while I am nursing him, of course) to add pictures to the blog. Please review the next few posts slowly as it may be another three weeks before I find the time again...

Disappointing Loss, Cute Outfit

I had to post this picture even though the Colts lost last Saturday. Jackson was losing steam but I snapped this picture before he changed for bed. There's always next year!

Bath Time

Jackson loves bath time! He especially loves naked time after it is done.

Conversations with Grandpa

When we were home for Christmas, Jackson had a very serious discussion with Grandpa one morning. Isn't this picture hilarious!

Thank You Abbie!

We finally got Jackson's birth announcement sent out to his adoring fans (it only took until he was 5 weeks old!). The announcement was designed by my cousin, Abbie Rumbach. Abbie designs birthday invitations, thank-you notes, announcements and many other things (http://movebrightly.blogspot.com/). A big thank you to Abbie for designing this for us!

Baby's First Christmas

Our first Christmas with Jackson was great! Since everything is new to him, we decided not to go overboard with presents. Instead we got him a few practical items like a rolling backpack for trips to Grandma and Grandpa's house and Baby Einstein DVDs. The first two pictures were taken on Christmas Eve which also happened to be his one-month birthday. The second two were taken on Christmas Day when Jackson dressed as Santa Claus.
